Shri Siddhivinayak Temple of Siddhatek is a Hindu temple dedicated to Ganesha, the elephant-headed god of wisdom. The temple is one of the Ashtavinayaka, the eight revered shrines of Ganesha in the Indian state of Maharashtra and the only Ashtavinayaka shrine in Ahmednagar district.

Here are some photos captured during my first visit to Siddhatek.

How to reach

If you are travelling directly by train to Siddhatek, you have to get down at the Daund Junction Railway Station which is approx 13 kms from Siddhatek. From Daund you can board the State Transport bus and get off at Shirapur village. From there it is 1 km to Siddhatek. Alternatively, you can take an early morning bus directly from Pune (Shivaji Nagar area) to Siddhatek.

Travel tip
For travellers from Mumbai/Thane/Kalyan, Mumbai-Pune passenger trains are the best option. Catch any early morning passenger train – Indrayani/Intercity Express. Get down at Pune station and hire a vehicle for Ashtavinayak darshan.
