The festive mood starts across different states in India as our Ganpati Bappa is arriving on 13th September 2018, on his birthday known as Ganesh Chaturthi. Devotees who brings Ganesh Idol at their home have started visiting markets for purchasing decoration materials which includes Eco- friendly makhars, decoration lights, artificial flowers and other materials.
During this festive season, markets are crowded as people rush to buy the best available decoration material. The atmosphere in the market is colourful and enjoyable as everybody is happy shopping for their favourite Lord Ganesha. The market is full of shops/street stalls selling artificial flowers, garlands strings, makhars, bead strings, colourful/fancy drapes, twisted fabric strings and decorative lights.
I too visited the Kalyan market with my better half. We were lucky to get the first glimpse of arrival of Lord Ganesha with Dhol-Tasha pathak. The sound of dhol & tasha beats started the celebration as bappa marched in the market with group of youngsters reverberating incantations of ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’.
After the quick darshan of bappa, our shopping spree started which lasted for almost three hours. I could manage some clicks during the shopping which gives a glimpse of the festive mood.
I hope you all will enjoy these colourful pics 🙂
