In India, most of the Hindus awaits for Navrati festival after Ganesh festival as these festivals are celebrated back-to-back in the same month or subsequent months. This year, Navrati festival was celebrated just 15 days after Ganesh visarjan. Navrati festival is celebrated for nine days by worshipping the Goddess Durga. To know more about this festival, read my last year’s post on Navrati Festival – 2016.

Every year, I visit Durgadi Temple of Kalyan along with my family during Navrati festival. This temple is located near Ganesh Ghat. This year, we had to be in a queue for almost two hours to take darshan of Durgadi devi. The temple
was decorated with full of lights and flowers. In the temple premise, small idols of various goddess were kept for darshan. These idols were replicas of Shree Renuka Mata of Mahur, Shree Mahalaxmi Mata of Kolhapur, Shree Tuljabhavni Mata of Tuljapur and Shree Saptrashrungi Mata of Vani.

The experience of visiting Durgadi temple was like a pilgrimage as we could take darshan of all goddesses in one place.

Here are some photos captured by me during this visit.
