Elysium Estates – Nagaon

Elysium Estates is a beautiful seaside property located at Nagaon in Alibaug.
It has cottages and main bungalow surrounded by a 5 acre estate with large coconut and palm trees. This property is just 100 meters from the main Nagaon beach. It’s an ideal place for weekend trip with family or friends.

The key attraction is the swimming pool in front of the main bungalow and long picturesque tree-lined walkways across the estate. There are various flower plants in the garden area. I found some beautiful hibiscus flowers and some unknown wild flowers while taking a stroll across the property. It was interesting to observe birds such as bulbuls and long-tailed shrike in the vicinity.

To the extreme right end of the main bungalow, a tall lookout tower is placed which provides spectacular views of the overall property and its surrounding area.  Just be there at early morning before sunrise near the tower, you can see the beautiful morning mist in the property surrounding area. The lookout tower is an ideal place for relaxation and meditation.

As this place is very close to the seaface, there are no restaurants or food stalls near by. You have to depend on in-house caterer for meals on demand. The food quality is good with reasonably priced menu. The taste of the food is like home made food with some variant of konkani spices.

I had visited this place twice, first time with my family and second time with my colleagues in Mahindra as a corporate outing. Both the time my overall  experience of visiting this place was peaceful and relaxing. If you want to enjoy this trip, take a sea route to reach Alibaug. How to reach:

From Mumbai by Ferry:
Daily catamaran services are available from 6:00am to 6:00pm from the
Gateway of India. It takes around 1 hour to reach Mandwa. The ferry
owners operates their own bus service from Mandwa to Alibaug which
takes around 45 minutes. From Alibaug you can take local rickshaw to
reach Nagaon in15-20 minutes.

From Mumbai by Road:
The distance between Mumbai and Alibaug is approx. 110 km.
The best route is through Panvel -> Pen -> Alibaug -> Murud Road -> Nagaon.
