Goddess Durga gets the final touch

Navrati, the most awaited festival of the year is just around the corner. Across India, artists are busy giving the final touch to idols of the Goddess Durga in their workshops. These artists work day and night to complete the idols just before start of the festival.

Today morning, I along with my son visited some workshops in Kumbharwada and Beturkarpada areas of Kalyan. It was interesting to see the concentration of artists in giving the final touch of painting to various idols of Goddess Durga.

Some artists were completing the finishing touch and some were yet to start the painting. These idols will be ready to installed at various puja
pandals in next two days as the Navrati festival starts on 10th October 2018.

Have a glimpse of these beautiful pics captured by me.

  1. Just beatific pics!
During my childhood days,I used to be present at pandals from the first day of the idol making of durga Puja. During those days the idols used to be made within some pandals however not all pandals made the idols they brought it from the artists place.

The pics just reminded me of childhood Durga Puja.

  8. Beautiful. This reminds of the Ganesh Chaaturthi back in my place. The different avatars of Durga and the creativity of the artists. Super.
